gotta start somewhere

in attempts to man our lil' creamy poof up, he and Daddy watched a monster truck competition tonight.

of course, when one of them crashed and Oqui yelled at the screen...

the Prof started pouting and cried a little.

baby steps.

Holy Hell. This little guy is giving you guys a run for your money!!

Gremlin wasn't an easy baby either. I don't know how she has managed to live to be 7 years old because some days I was ready to give her away because she was such a handful. Autumn says the only reason she survived is because she was cute.

We had a similar problem with Gremlin & reflux. I didn't breast feed because I ended up hospitalized for 12 days about 9 days after she was born. I almost died from a massive abscess in my abdomen. Mark took her to pediatrician while I was hospitalized and asked him if "These things come with an owner's manual."

After endless screaming days & nights and doctor's appointment after doctor's appointment with umpteen specialists at Yale and the other children's hospital, Gremlin ended up on Neutramigin formula. It was ungodly expensive, BUT because she couldn't tolerate anything else, it was considered some kind of special dietary need, so our medical insurance paid for it, minus a $30.00 monthly deductible for the formula. Call your insurance company and ask them about that.

As much as you want to breast feed him, at some point you need to realize that YOU need to be able to eat healthy without causing your baby so much gastric distress. You need to be able to sleep so you don't loose your sanity.

It's a hard decision to make. I beat myself up for the longest time over not being able to breast feed the Gremlin, but I finally came to terms with it and realized that even if I had not been so sick and tried to nurse her, it wouldn't have worked any way.

For what it's worth, the kid is disgustingly healthy. It must be from all the dirt she ate as a toddler and the dog toys she stole from Petey so she could teeth on them. When most kids get sick, she doesn't. She just brings the germs home so I can get sick. Mark has decided that she is a biological weapon capable of mass destruction.

The little porker at about 10 months....

Note that ALL that food on the table is what she ate in ONE MONTH!! Four cases of 6 cans of formula, 150 jars of baby food, 3 boxes of cereal and baby treats.
